I curate gatherings that ignite a creative flow in a supportive environment. Tools are provided to allow participants to connect with their inner children and each other.
Hanging Out Studios began organically at a music festival, when an individual art piece transformed into an interactive collaboration. Since Day Zero, curiosity, playfulness, and connection have been the driving force behind every workshop.
My mission is to cultivate and share the meditative joy of creating art.

Explore movement, harmony, and tension with the hanging mobile as our template.
This workshop begins with an introduction to the Kinetic Art Movement followed by a grounding exercise and tutorial before diving into the creative flow and closing out with staring our creations. Depending on the group, participants can create individual pieces or collaborate on collective pieces.
Wires & pliers are the core ingredients, but supplemental materials are sourced locally to tie the workshop to the environment. Dana builds a buffet of secondhand and/or natural materials to highlight how everyday objects can inspire creation.
Dana has been specializing in kinetic art since 2020 and has offered this signature, ever-evolving workshop from coast to coast and internationally.

While learning the basics of this art form and experimenting with various techniques, we will weave together our collective history by sharing, exchanging, and intertwining our own images to create individual and collaborative works of art.
